I first met Nyomie of NyGloriousFaceArts on a shift last year. We hit it off as we both seem to wear many of the same hats. Mum. Nurse. Mumtrepreneur. We decided long ago that we must get together and work on a joint project. Well earlier this year, almost a year after we first met we finally did it! One of our friends and much loved colleague was expecting a baby so to honour this Nyomie decided to get artistic and paint the bump!
Mum chose some art that she loved and Nyomie got to work redesigning it especially for her.
These photos don't do this day justice. Nyomie is such a spiritual person that mum (and baby) were extremely relaxed throughout. The level of concentration was immense!!! Every piece of this art had been thought out, planned intricately in advance and pre drawn on her leg to see how it would all come together! lol.
This is an experience that I would highly recommend. Nyomie is affordable, flexible and extremely talented! Not only does she paint yummy mummy's but she does children's parties, festivals and more. If there is ANY event that needs a face painter/body artist you can be sure that Nyomie will not disappoint. To book please get in touch for prices and more info
It is so hard to think that this time last year this prince was born. (See his first blog post here)
To celebrate his mummy asked if we could do a cake smash. As always anything goes for this little man so we set the date, she prepared some props and away we went! Luckily she obliged to have me at her house as her kitchen has been extended (courtesy of The London Craftsman) and offers space and wood floor (handy for the clean up afterwards!). We started out with a few test shots and managed to sneak in some photos of him and daddy before mummy unveiled the cake she had made! (FYI I'm sure it goes without saying but make sure you have two cakes in case you need to reshoot any poses and also because I'm almost certain the photographer will have no objection to eating some afterwards. PS - also check out and like her page Mrs Cooper's cupcakes)
Some costume changes and a cake later and I can honestly say we had a blast!
He is the funniest, cheekiest mummy's boy and has brought no end of smiles to his immediate and extended family and friends alike.
Happy Birthday Baby B!
On fathers day I had the pleasure of not only spending time with my wonderful dad and my husband (an awesome dad to our two beauties) but also with Mr and Mrs O for their maternity shoot.
The sun was shining, bump was well behaved for mummy and we even managed a cheeky ice cream afterwards. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of your journey, I watched you get married and am now looking forward to meeting your princess! Happy first (semi-unofficial) Fathers day Mr O!
Just before Christmas I had the pleasure of shooting this little fella. The run up to Christmas was a busy one so unfortunately we didn't get to schedule his shoot soon enough and he was slightly too old for a typical "newborn" shoot (though he was still tiny!) but we went right ahead anyway and had a blast.
He was a little angel, so patient and a dream to photograph. He had such a blast that the following week he brought his daddy back with him.
Needless to say if you weren't broody before this post, you will be soon after.......
Working with Caroline at Funky Bubbaloo is always fun but working on a Christmas shoot was even better! As ever her inspiration for Funky Bubbaloo (Bubba T) modelled the collection along with another little beauty who was booked in for a Christmas shoot of her own (blog post pending)
The Christmas collection this year includes Tutu's, hair clips, hair bands and more. Funky Bubbaloo can make bespoke orders too so drop Caroline a message. Look out for another special Nwanne Casey Photography and Funky Bubbaloo collaboration in the new year.
Merry Christmas everyone :-)
